Data transmission and automatically collected data

When the website fame.dife.de is called up, information is collected from the web server for the transmission of data and partly stored in log files. These are information about the device used, the name of the operating system, the browser used, the time of the access, the so-called referrer (this is the address of the website from which you are visiting us), data volumes transmitted and an anonymous IP -Address. For the anonymization of the IP address, the last digit of the address is encoded before storage as 0, so that no clear assignment of the user is possible. These log files are managed by the IT department of the DIfE and saved for 14 days on a web server in the server room of the DIfE. A personal reference cannot be created from this data.

These data are used for the purpose of guaranteeing the website functionality and security and evaluated for error detection. We will not transfer them to third parties.

Cookies

The website uses so-called "session cookies" to ensure the functionality of the website. These are small text files that are only stored for the duration of the visit to the website on the user's hard drive and are deleted depending on the setting of the browser program when closing the browser. These cookies do not retrieve information stored on the hard disk about the user and do not affect the PC or files. Most browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. However, users can disable the storage of cookies or set their browser to point to the sending of cookies.

Password-protected area

On our website, for certain content of our websites (a download center named “Investigator Tools”) we offer you the option of logging on with a user name and password. Registration for such services does not take place via the website but is only possible after personal contact with the FAME project coordinator at the DIfE and will only be granted to project partners.

The legal foundations for data processing in such cases is Art. 6 (1) letter F GFPR for the provision of information via a download center.

The legitimate interest in processing data pursuant to Art. 6 (1) letter F GDPR is reflected in the fact that confidential and internal project information may be made available via this information portal.

The password-protected area is realized via the community function of the CMS Redaxo. Compulsory information for each user of this area is a) Login, b) Password (stored encrypted in the database and can only be displayed in plain text directly after input) and c) an e-mail address. The specification of an e-mail address is system-related since the CMS generally offers the possibility of autonomous account management by the user. However, this feature is not used for the website. The address is not displayed or processed at any point to the user of the website. For the creation of user profiles, no clear names are used as login and no real e-mail addresses, so that via the website no direct relation to a natural person is possible.

In the context of user administration, user data are stored in the database which includes id, login, password (as hash), status of access, time of last action, time of last login, and number of login tries. A login is connected to a single user ID, however, IP addresses or other personal data are not stored in the context of user administration. The data are erased as soon as they are no longer necessary to achieve the purpose of their collection. This is the case for the data collected during the registration process if the registration on our website is canceled or modified.

By using this website, you consent to the processing of the data collected by us in the manner and for the purposes set out above.
